Overview

Barlow House is named after two biological sisters, Sr Shelley Barlow and Sr Madeleine Barlow, who have had a long-standing relationship with the College.

Barlow House represents the compassionate and selfless spirit and philosophy of the RNDM Sisters, particularly Sr Shelley and Sr Madeleine.

Crest Meaning

The Barlow crest is made up of four elements surrounding the RNDM Cross:

  • Waves – connection to the ocean at Sorrento
  • Pelican – devotion and self-sacrificing nature of the Barlow Sisters
  • Flame – Barlow Sisters’ light and hope
  • Palm leaves – taken from the College crest to represent victory and to establish a common connection between the two

House Totems

The Barlow House Totems, Dolphin and Bracken Fern, teach us about healing, care and joyful connection. Barlow can look after their totem by being kind, joyful and caring for each other and our world.
