Overview

Trinity House is named after the Holy Trinity, reflecting the RNDM Sisters’ spiritual mission to support the marginalised and uphold faith, vision and courage. Euphrasie Barbier used the image of God as Trinity – three images of the nature and being of God sent on continual mission and longing for the wellbeing of all that is created, in Spirit of Love, bringing wholeness to all.

In the Trinity, there are no boundaries to love and this is the source of the Trinitarian Spirituality that runs through the RNDM life that we, as partners, are called to be part of.

Crest Meaning

The crest contains the following:

  • Shape of a chalice – symbolising the outpour of Trinitarian Spirituality
  • Shield with three sections – representing the Holy Trinity
  • RNDM Cross – a reminder of our call to be partners and our link to the RNDM Sisters
  • Rays from behind the cross – represent the energy of reaching out to the borders in our call to mission
  • Trinity Knot – Christian symbol of the Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit; three distinct persons of one divine essence. It also depicts our interconnectedness to engage in mission we are called to as partners of the RNDM Sisters.
  • Shell – symbolic of the parable story of Augustine’s encounter with the child on the beach, who was an angel according to the legend, leaving Augustine alone with the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity to contemplate. It is also the symbol worn by Christians to show they are on a pilgrimage
  • Hand embracing the heart – highlights our partnership with the RNDM Sisters’ call to have a missionary heart (Euphrasie was always urging her Sisters to open their hearts to the gift of love within and to cultivate its outward flow)
  • Palm leaves – taken from the College crest to represent victory and to establish a common connection between the two

House Totems

Trinity’s House Totems, Turtle and Sheoak, remind us of patience, protection and care. Trinity can care for their totem by being patient and looking out for each other.
